General Activities of the Consulate

The Consulate of the Slovak Republic in Malta is an important reference point for Slovaks residing in Malta, and those here for a visit, who find themselves in situations of distress.

Assistance provided by the Consulate includes authentication and translation  of documents,  support to Slovak Nationals in hospital or prison and assistance in cases of lost documents such as passports and identity cards.  The Consulate also assists entrepreneurs in establishing business contacts in Slovakia.

The Consulate  has successfully introduced Malta to Slovak culture, particularly music and art, and regularly presents major Slovak   classical performers to Maltese audiences.  Art Exhibitions are organised, providing a platform for works by Slovak professional and amateur artists and sculptors.

Honorary Consul Godwin Bencini is directly involved in preparations for the various official visits by Slovak Ministers to Malta, and vice versa by Maltese Ministers.  He also played a big part in the organisation of the recent very successful State Visit to Malta by President I. Gasparovic.

The Friends of Slovakia in Malta Association, was formed by  the Consulate  in 2007.  This association organises social events for Slovaks resident in Malta and others.  It serves as an important vehicle to bring Slovaks together in enjoyable environments.
